At Rise to Thrive, we champion grassroots movements led by women and femmes of color. Join our movement dedicated to cultivating, building, and mobilizing a diverse base across the United States. Our 'Femmes Against Fossil Fuels Campaign' is committed to protecting communities from fossil fuel harm and driving a transition to a 100 percent clean energy economy. Together, we amplify the voices of those impacted by partnering directly with communities and empowering politically engaged individuals to shape a world free from environmental pollution and climate devastation. Femmes Against Fossil Fuels Campaign
We're building a diverse network of politically trained and engaged women and femmes of color nationwide. Through our Femmes Against Fossil Fuels Campaign, we aim to protect communities from pollution while transitioning to a 100 percent clean energy economy. Operating at all government levels, we actively oppose fossil fuel expansion and leverage the power of women of color as our core constituency. We collaborate with communities directly affected by fossil fuel production and climate impacts. Join us in creating a just world free from environmental pollution and climate devastation
State-Based Clean Energy Tables
We aim to establish state advocacy tables led by influential women of color. These leaders will advocate against fossil fuel infrastructure and promote clean energy solutions. The vision is to empower these advocates with resources for impactful change at the state level, envisioning a future where women of color play key roles in reshaping energy policies, fostering sustainability, and dismantling fossil fuel reliance. Join us on this journey toward a more equitable and sustainable future.
Supporting a Federal Climate Agenda
We are aiming to ensure the President of the United States declares a federal climate emergency. Under a federal climate emergency, the President of the United States can:
Key Policy Issues
Demanding Action: Halt Crude Oil Exports
Reinstate the crude oil export ban to save 181 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually.
Federal Moratorium on Fossil Fuel Infrastructure:
Enact a federal moratorium on approving all fossil fuel infrastructure, including oil and gas export terminals, pipelines, and refining facilities.
End Fossil Fuel Extraction on Public Lands and Waters:
Stop all fossil fuel extraction on public lands and waters, targeting the largest emission reduction source (25% of climate emissions), predominantly from coal.
